Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 has released a new poster visual and trailer ahead of its premiere on October 20, 2026. Animated by Studio TRIGGER, the upcoming Netflix series will introduce a new story set in the dark, futuristic world of Cyberpunk 2077.

Meet the Four Main Characters
Four central characters have already been introduced, each bringing a different background and motivation to the story.
- Weak Kingsley: Once known as King, Weak is an experienced edgerunner who has fallen from his former position of strength and now lives in the shadow of his past reputation.
- D: A skilled netrunner associated with Snake Nation, D seeks revenge against the person responsible for destroying his clan.
- Roman Carax: A young film enthusiast searching for authentic stories in a city where traditional cinema has been replaced by neurodance. He is determined to document the truth by observing other people’s lives.
- Talia Yang: Raised among corporate elites but hardened by her experiences with the Maelström gang, Talia is fiercely independent and deeply immersed in the gang’s violent culture and cybernetic enhancements.
The characters’ different goals and personal histories are expected to shape the conflicts that unfold throughout the new season.
Returning Creative Team and Production Details
Director Kai Ikarashi, who previously directed the original anime’s sixth episode, titled Girl on Fire, is leading the sequel. Ichigo Kanno is responsible for character design, while Masahiko Otsuka will handle the screenplay.
Bartosz Sztybor is also returning as showrunner, story writer, and producer. The series is based on the universe created for the Cyberpunk 2077 video game by CD PROJEKT RED.
