Speaking about her current equation with Rahul Vaidya, Shukre explained that they rarely communicate now because he is occupied with his own commitments. She added that she has maintained more regular contact with Abhijeet Sawant, with whom she has always shared a special friendship.
The singer said she exchanges occasional greetings with other former contestants, including Amit Sana, Aditya Narayan and Harish Mayal. However, Sawant remains the contestant she is closest to in terms of staying connected.

Reuniting With Amit Sana for Indian Idol Legends Return
Shukre is set to reunite with Amit Sana for Indian Idol Legends Return. Speaking about performing alongside him, she explained that friendship and musical compatibility are two different things.
She noted that while knowing someone personally can make communication easier, performing together requires singers to understand each other’s vocal ranges, styles and song preferences. Even talented singers may not always have the same musical chemistry, she explained.
Despite these challenges, Shukre expressed confidence in their performance and said they had given their best for the show.
Prajakta Shukre Looks Back on Her Indian Idol Journey
Shukre was studying in Class 12 when she auditioned for the first season of Indian Idol. At the time, singing reality shows were still a relatively new career opportunity, but her parents supported her decision to pursue music.
She recalled that her father encouraged her to follow her passion, even though participating in the show coincided with her board examinations. Shukre said she wanted to build a career in music rather than pursue education simply to obtain a qualification.
Returning to the Indian Idol platform after almost 20 years has also allowed her to reflect on how the show has changed. She observed that contestants today appear more confident about expressing their opinions, whereas earlier participants often showed respect by remaining quiet and listening to the judges.
