The upcoming anime Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara has unveiled a new teaser trailer and a third key visual, offering fans a closer look at its monster-filled world. The project is a collaboration between Toei Animation and Tsuburaya Productions, with its release planned for 2027.
The latest footage also introduces the voices of the two central characters, Maru and Coco, giving viewers their first proper audio preview of the new production.
Aya Yamane and Karin Takahashi Lead the Voice Cast
Aya Yamane voices Maru, a boy who lives in a society known as the City and hunts kaiju to earn a living. Karin Takahashi voices Coco, a girl from the Aidara tribe who lives in the dangerous Zone and hopes humans and monsters can find a way to coexist.
The newly released visual features Coco reaching out towards a kaiju named Giira. The image reflects her different attitude towards the creatures that inhabit the Zone.
A Story Set Between Two Very Different Worlds
The anime takes place in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, and follows two young characters from contrasting environments. Maru belongs to the City, a society described as having moved beyond the usual limits of the body, mind, space and time. Coco lives among the dangers of the Zone, where extraordinary creatures known as Transcendent Organisms exist.
Their opposing circumstances lead them to search for a way to live together. The story combines a kaiju-focused setting with a relationship built around understanding and coexistence.
Production Team and Release Window
S/N is directing the anime, while Katsuie Shibata is responsible for the screenplay. Sei Nakashima is designing Maru, Masatsugu Saito is designing Coco, and Masayuki Goto of Tsuburaya Productions is handling the kaiju designs.
Animation production is being handled by ARECT and Toei Animation. Although the project is scheduled for 2027, an exact premiere date has not yet been announced.
The new trailer and key visual mark another step forward for Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara, giving viewers a clearer look at its characters, setting and central conflict ahead of its planned release.
