Actor Addinath Kothare has described his first day of filming for director Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming two-part epic Ramayana as a surreal experience. The actor, who plays Bharat in the film, recalled arriving on the Ayodhya set and finding himself surrounded by fellow cast members, including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Ravi Dubey.
A Memorable Moment on the Ayodhya Set
Kothare explained that while actors are focused on their characters during filming, the full significance of an experience sometimes becomes clear only afterward. He recalled returning home after that first day and sitting with his family, reflecting on the scale of what he had just experienced.
The actor also expressed gratitude for being part of such an ambitious project. He praised the team behind the film, including director Nitesh Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra and cinematographer Pankaj Kumar.
What to Expect From the Upcoming Epic
Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman and Kothare as Bharat. The ensemble also includes Yash, Sunny Deol, Anupam Kher, Kajal Aggarwal and several other performers.
The first part of the film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 5, 2026, while the second part is planned for Diwali 2027. The film is among the most anticipated Indian releases of the year, bringing the ancient epic to the screen with a large ensemble cast and an ambitious production.
