Bollywood actress Yami Gautam is set to take part in Delhi’s Dussehra celebrations on October 20, 2026, by performing the symbolic Ravan Vadh at the famous Luv Kush Ramleela. The event will be held at the historic Red Fort Ground and will mark the traditional celebration of good triumphing over evil.
A Special Dussehra Appearance
Yami will symbolically shoot an arrow at Ravana’s effigy during the annual celebration, which attracts large crowds. Her participation brings an interesting connection between her recent film work and one of India’s well-known festive traditions.
The actress recently performed a Ravan Vadh sequence in her film Nayyi Navelli. Her appearance at the Ramleela will bring a similar moment into a live cultural celebration.
This Year’s Theme Focuses on Respect for Women
The 2026 edition of the Luv Kush Ramleela centres on the theme “Respect for Women.” Organisers have invited Yami to highlight women’s strength, dignity and their role in standing against injustice and social evils.
The event’s organisers have also emphasised that Ravana represents not only a figure from mythology but also arrogance and injustice. Through this year’s theme, they aim to connect the traditional message of Dussehra with the importance of women’s empowerment and respect.
Bollywood Stars and the Annual Celebration
Several well-known film personalities, including Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, John Abraham, Prabhas and Kareena Kapoor, have previously been associated with the Luv Kush Ramleela celebrations. Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has also been linked to the event.
Yami Gautam’s participation adds another Bollywood name to the annual programme. The celebrations at the Red Fort Ground on October 20 are expected to combine the traditional significance of Dussehra with a message about equality, dignity and respect for women.
