Actress Ishita Dutta has spoken about the challenges the team faced after Akshaye Khanna left Drishyam 3: The Conclusion. His departure created difficulties for the production, as the filmmakers had to make changes while keeping the project on schedule.
A Difficult Change for the Team
Khanna had been expected to return after appearing in an earlier instalment of the popular thriller franchise. However, he exited the third film shortly before filming was due to begin, leaving the makers with limited time to work out an alternative.
The situation was particularly challenging because preparations were already underway and the cast and crew had scheduled their work around the shoot.
Jaideep Ahlawat Joins the Film
The filmmakers eventually brought Jaideep Ahlawat on board and revised the character and script rather than simply asking the actor to recreate Khanna’s earlier role. Director Abhishek Pathak had previously described the last-minute change as a difficult situation for the production.
The Story Continues With a New Dynamic
The third instalment continues the story of Vijay Salgaonkar, played by Ajay Devgn. The franchise is known for its suspense, family drama and carefully constructed mysteries, and the casting change brought fresh attention to the film before its release.
Ishita’s comments offer a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes pressure that can arise when a major casting decision changes close to filming.
