Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s spy comedy Udta Teer has registered a significant improvement in its box office performance on its second day in cinemas. After a relatively modest opening, the film recorded a strong increase in ticket sales on Saturday, raising hopes for a better opening weekend.
Directed by Aakash Kaushik, the film is backed by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment. Its second-day performance suggests that audience turnout improved over the opening day, although its ability to maintain that momentum will be important for its overall theatrical run.
Saturday Collections Show Strong Growth
Udta Teer collected approximately ₹7.25 crore net in India on its second day, compared with ₹4.10 crore on Friday. This represents a rise of around 76.8% in daily domestic earnings.
Following the Saturday increase, the film’s two-day domestic net collection reached ₹11.35 crore. Its domestic gross earnings stood at approximately ₹13.53 crore, while its worldwide gross collection reached ₹16.28 crore, according to reported box office figures.
The improvement came despite a slight reduction in the number of screens showing the film. Weekend audiences helped lift collections, giving the spy comedy a stronger position than its opening-day figures initially suggested.
Opening Day Was Comparatively Modest
The film began its theatrical run with ₹4.10 crore in domestic net collections. Its advance ticket sales had been relatively limited, meaning the opening-day result depended significantly on people buying tickets closer to showtime.
The stronger Saturday performance helped the film recover some of that initial ground. However, its final opening-weekend total will depend on whether audience interest continues through Sunday and into the following weekdays.
What Lies Ahead for Udta Teer?
The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan and combines spy-comedy elements with entertainment aimed at a broad theatrical audience.
Its latest box office numbers provide an encouraging weekend development after a slower start. The next key indicator will be whether the film can sustain its collections beyond the weekend, when weekday attendance typically becomes an important test of a movie’s staying power.
For now, Udta Teer has recorded a notable second-day rise, but its longer-term box office performance remains dependent on how audiences respond in the days ahead.
