Travellers planning to fly between India and Saudi Arabia may need to revise their plans after Air India and Air India Express extended the suspension of flights connecting three major Saudi cities. Services to and from Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam will remain suspended until November 14, 2026.
IndiGo and Akasa Air Also Announce Cancellations
The disruption is linked to the continuing security situation in West Asia. IndiGo has also cancelled flights connecting Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah until November 14. Akasa Air has suspended its Riyadh services until November 30 and Jeddah flights until November 10.
Free Rebooking and Full Refund Options
Passengers holding confirmed Air India or Air India Express bookings issued for travel up to November 14, have two options:
- One-time complimentary rebooking, subject to seat availability, for travel up to November 29.
- Full refund if they choose to cancel their booking.
Air India passengers can request alternative travel through any operational Air India station in Saudi Arabia. Air India Express passengers can rebook through its operational stations in Saudi Arabia or Bahrain.
Passengers Advised to Check Flight Status
Travellers should check directly with their airline before leaving for the airport and confirm whether their flight is operating. Those affected can contact the airlines’ customer support teams or visit their city booking offices for assistance.
The extended suspension is likely to affect passengers travelling for work, family visits and religious journeys between India and Saudi Arabia.
