Amid the massive box-office success of Drishyam 3, director Abhishek Pathak has dismissed speculation about a possible fourth instalment, stating that the popular crime thriller franchise has reached its natural conclusion.
Pathak explained that the decision to make another film would depend entirely on the story. He emphasised that the team believes Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is the final chapter and that the film’s ending provides a fitting closure to the much-loved franchise.
Pathak also expressed his hope that October 2 would continue to be celebrated as Drishyam Day by fans. He described the ending as a heartfelt tribute to the franchise and said that extending the story simply because audiences want another instalment would not be the right approach.
His remarks come days after lead actor Ajay Devgn addressed the possibility of another film . While Devgn described the latest instalment as the conclusion for now, he also said, “Never say never,” leaving room for uncertainty about the franchise’s future.
Drishyam 3: The Conclusion stars Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar, alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta and Rajat Kapoor. Jaideep Ahlawat has also joined the franchise in a new role. The film is directed by Abhishek Pathak.
The film has collected ₹501.80 crore worldwide, including ₹323.50 crore net in India, within 12 days of its release. Its strong theatrical performance has further fueled discussions among fans about the possibility of another instalment.
Mohanlal, who starred in the original Malayalam version of Drishyam, also praised the film, congratulating the director, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak, Ajay Devgn and the entire cast and crew for delivering what he described as a fitting conclusion to the story.
Despite growing audience interest in a potential fourth film, Abhishek Pathak has made it clear that, for now, the team considers Drishyam 3 the end of Vijay Salgaonkar’s cinematic journey.
