Bollywood actress Vidya Balan is all set to make her Tamil cinema debut with Jailer 2, starring superstar Rajinikanth. The actress will play the antagonist Kantha in the much-awaited film.
Vidya Balan revealed that she had received an offer to work with Rajinikanth a few years ago but could not accept it due to a clash of dates. She expressed happiness at finally getting the opportunity to share the screen with the legendary actor.
Speaking about her role in Jailer 2, Vidya said that the interesting nature of her character was the main reason she agreed to the project. She also expressed hope that this film would open doors for more opportunities in Tamil cinema.
The film boasts an impressive star cast, including Mohanlal, Vijay Sethupathi and Mithun Chakraborty. There are also reports suggesting that Hrithik Roshan may make a special appearance, although this has not been officially confirmed.
Vidya also shared an interesting experience from the shoot, revealing that she initially felt awkward while performing a scene in which she had to blow smoke towards Rajinikanth because of the immense respect she has for him. However, she completed the scene as required.
With its star-studded cast and Vidya Balan’s Tamil debut, Jailer 2 has generated considerable excitement among fans.
