Indian destinations are seeking to attract more international visitors by highlighting experiences that go beyond traditional sightseeing at a major travel trade event in Singapore.
Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Goa and Odisha are among the destinations presenting their tourism offerings at ITB Asia 2026, which brings together travel professionals, tour operators and industry representatives.
Focus on Culture, Nature and Experiential Travel
The participating states are showcasing different aspects of India’s tourism potential, including natural landscapes, cultural heritage and experiences designed to help visitors connect more closely with local destinations.
Kerala is highlighting its backwaters, houseboats, Ayurveda and natural scenery. Goa is promoting its “Goa Beyond Beaches” initiative, encouraging travellers to explore its heritage, festivals, hinterland, biodiversity and community-based experiences.
Jammu and Kashmir is presenting its tourism opportunities to international travel businesses, while Madhya Pradesh is drawing attention to its heritage and wildlife attractions. Odisha is also participating in efforts to increase the visibility of Indian destinations in overseas markets.
Building Stronger Links With Asian Travel Markets
The participation at ITB Asia is intended to help Indian tourism bodies connect with overseas tour operators, develop business partnerships and introduce more international travellers to destinations across the country.
For travellers, this wider promotion could bring greater attention to holidays that combine nature, heritage, local traditions and outdoor activities rather than focusing on a single attraction. Each state offers a different travel experience, giving visitors more options when planning a trip to India.
The event also highlights a broader effort to present India as a destination for varied, experience-led journeys, while helping tourism businesses explore opportunities in Asian markets.
