Travellers planning a visit to Gujarat’s Statue of Unity region may soon have two more attractions to explore. New tourism projects at Ekta Nagar, in Narmada district, are scheduled for inauguration on October 31, 2026, including a large rainforest-themed attraction with a glass skywalk and a passenger cruise on the Narmada River.
A Rainforest Experience in Gujarat
The planned rainforest project is being developed on approximately 12 acres near the New Gora Bridge and Coconut Tree Garden, around five kilometres from the Statue of Unity. The ₹12-crore attraction is designed to recreate a rainy environment with artificial rainfall, a waterfall, bubble fountains and landscaped greenery.
The facility is planned to use 20 rain-gun towers to create its rain effect, while maintaining an indoor temperature of around 25°C to 30°C. This could give visitors a nature-themed experience even during Gujarat’s hotter months.
Glass Skywalk Adds a New Viewpoint
One of the main features will be a circular glass walkway made from 132 panels of thick glass. The structure is planned to measure 22 metres in diameter and stand 11 metres above the ground, offering visitors an elevated view of the attraction.
Narmada Cruise to Expand Sightseeing Options
A new passenger cruise costing ₹16 crore is also scheduled to be inaugurated. With capacity for around 600 passengers, the vessel is intended to strengthen river-based tourism around the Statue of Unity and give visitors another way to experience the Narmada.
Check Opening Details Before Visiting
The projects are scheduled for inauguration on October 31, so travellers should confirm public opening dates, ticket prices and booking arrangements before making a special trip. Once operational, the attractions could provide additional options for families and visitors planning a longer stay in the Statue of Unity area.
