Khajuraho, the Madhya Pradesh destination renowned for its historic temples and intricate stone carvings, is being considered for a major tourism development push worth ₹500 crore. The proposed investment aims to strengthen the town’s position as a key stop on North India’s established tourist circuit.
Plan to Expand the Delhi–Agra–Jaipur Circuit
Madhya Pradesh is looking to position Khajuraho as the fourth destination in the popular Delhi–Agra–Jaipur travel circuit. The plan would give visitors another reason to extend their itineraries beyond the three established destinations and explore the state’s cultural heritage.
Khajuraho is internationally known for its temple architecture and detailed sculptures, making it a distinctive addition to a journey focused on India’s history, art and heritage.
Proposed Investment Aims to Strengthen Tourism
The proposed ₹500 crore development plan is intended to improve Khajuraho’s tourism profile and integrate it more closely with established destinations. Better positioning within a wider travel circuit could encourage visitors to include the town in longer cultural and heritage holidays.
Details about the individual projects, implementation schedule and allocation of the proposed investment have not yet been fully outlined.
