New Connections Make Oman Easier to Explore
Travellers looking for a different winter holiday destination will soon have more direct flight options to Salalah, a coastal city in southern Oman. Air Astana is introducing weekly services from Almaty and Astana, giving visitors a more convenient way to reach the region without changing planes along the way.
Flights from Almaty are scheduled to begin on October 23, while services from Astana are due to start on October 24. Both routes will operate once a week using Airbus A320 aircraft, offering travellers another option for planning a holiday in Oman.
Beaches, Mountains and Natural Landscapes
Salalah is known for its coastline, palm-lined beaches, green mountain scenery and distinctive landscapes. Visitors can explore the beaches around the city, discover traditional markets and enjoy the natural beauty of the Dhofar region.
The destination is also associated with the seasonal transformation of its landscapes during the khareef period. Outside that season, travellers can still explore coastal viewpoints, local heritage sites and nearby natural attractions.
More Travel Options for Winter Holidays
The new routes are expected to provide travellers with additional choices for visiting Oman during the winter season. Visitors can plan beach holidays, explore local culture or include Salalah in a longer trip around the country. Before booking, passengers should confirm flight schedules, ticket prices and accommodation availability for their preferred dates.
