The music team of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King has undergone a major change ahead of its theatrical release. Music composer Anirudh Ravichander has reportedly stepped away from the project, with popular composer duo Sachin-Jigar taking charge of the film’s songs and background score.
The development has attracted attention because Anirudh was initially associated with the much-awaited action entertainer. His departure is reportedly linked to scheduling difficulties and his existing professional commitments in the South Indian film industry.
Why Anirudh Stepped Away from the Project
According to reports, Anirudh and the filmmakers mutually decided to part ways because his busy schedule made it difficult to devote sufficient time to a large-scale production like King. The makers are reportedly keen to maintain the film’s planned Christmas release schedule and wanted to ensure that the music work continued without delays.
Despite stepping away from the complete music assignment, Anirudh is expected to retain a connection with the project through a special theme track.
Sachin-Jigar Take Charge of the Film’s Music
Composer duo Sachin-Jigar will reportedly handle the film’s complete music album and background score. They are also expected to rework Anirudh’s theme composition and incorporate it into the film’s musical presentation.
Sachin-Jigar have worked on several successful Hindi film soundtracks, and their involvement brings a new musical direction to Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming project.
Shah Rukh Khan’s King Remains Highly Anticipated
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King features Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role and also stars Deepika Padukone. The film has generated considerable interest because of its action-driven storyline, star cast and large-scale production.
The music change is an important development during the film’s preparation, particularly as the makers work towards their planned December 2026 release. Anirudh’s reported theme contribution also means that audiences may still hear his musical touch in the film.
