GAIL (India) Limited has introduced the second season of its consumer awareness campaign, Wah Kya Energy Hai, along with a new anthem titled Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Energy. The initiative features four short films that highlight cleaner fuel alternatives, including Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Piped Natural Gas (PNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Compressed Biogas (CBG).
Through relatable stories and everyday situations, the campaign aims to encourage Indian consumers to consider cleaner energy options for homes, transportation, businesses and industrial activities.
GAIL’s ‘Wah Kya Energy Hai’ Season 2 Targets Younger Consumers
Launched on October 6, 2026, the second season continues GAIL’s efforts to make clean energy awareness more accessible to the public. The campaign places special emphasis on Gen Z, recognising the younger generation’s influence on consumer behaviour and its potential contribution to India’s transition towards sustainable energy.
The four films showcase the uses of Domestic PNG (D-PNG), Commercial PNG (C-PNG), Industrial PNG (IPNG), CNG and LNG. By presenting these applications through familiar experiences, the campaign explains how cleaner fuels can support daily household needs, transport services and commercial and industrial operations.
Mishra Family Returns in Four New Films
The latest season brings back the Mishra family, whose stories revolve around familiar situations such as a visit to Varanasi, a boat ride, family gatherings, visits to relatives and an event at Senior Mishra’s factory.
Humour and everyday experiences form the foundation of the films, helping communicate the practical benefits and applications of cleaner fuels. The stories encourage audiences to think about their energy choices and understand how alternative fuels can fit into different aspects of daily life.
Each episode runs for approximately eight to 10 minutes and features improved visuals, production quality and storytelling. All four films are available on GAIL’s official YouTube channel.
Actors Srikant Verma, Divya Jagdale, Luv Vispute and Ahmed Khan appear in the campaign, helping convey its messages about sustainability and responsible energy consumption.
‘Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Energy’ Anthem Highlights Clean Energy Solutions
Alongside the films, GAIL has released Naye Bharat Ki Nayi Energy, an anthem lasting more than four minutes. The video showcases the company’s energy infrastructure and initiatives, including India’s first floating CNG station in Varanasi and its Compressed Biogas projects.
The anthem features people from different age groups and backgrounds, including children, young adults, senior citizens and members of the defence forces. Its message links everyday decisions and the adoption of smarter fuel options with reducing individual carbon footprints and supporting a more sustainable future.
Ayush Gupta Explains the Campaign’s Objectives
Ayush Gupta, Director (HR) at GAIL, who also oversees Corporate Communications and Branding, said the campaign and its accompanying anthem aim to increase awareness of clean energy options and environmental responsibility among consumers.
He explained that the initiative uses practical, relatable storytelling to encourage people to make informed fuel choices and understand how cleaner energy can benefit both the environment and everyday life. Gupta also highlighted the inclusion of Gen Z, describing young people as important participants in the energy transition as well as future consumers.
According to Gupta, each film presents a different aspect of GAIL’s clean energy ecosystem. CNG and PNG feature in mobility and household applications, while Transport LNG and Commercial and Industrial PNG address the energy requirements of businesses and industries.
He also noted that the campaign incorporates GAIL Utkarsh, the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative supporting talented students from underprivileged communities, along with its floating CNG stations in Varanasi. These elements reflect GAIL’s efforts to demonstrate its contribution beyond energy supply, including wider social and economic development.
How GAIL Is Promoting the Campaign
GAIL is using several platforms to increase the campaign’s reach, including social media, influencer partnerships, audience engagement activities, digital banners, radio, cinema chains and gamification-based initiatives.
Short-form digital content is being used to promote the films, while the anthem is available on music-streaming services such as Spotify, Amazon Music, Gaana and JioSaavn.
Through the campaign, GAIL aims to improve public understanding of natural gas and other cleaner energy solutions as part of its broader sustainability efforts.
