Chandigarh: The Haryana government is considering expanding the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, which provides monthly financial assistance of ₹2,100 to eligible women. A proposal to revise the scheme’s income eligibility limit is expected to be discussed at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
If approved, the proposed revision could allow more women from middle- and lower-middle-income families to benefit from the scheme. The Cabinet is also expected to consider several other proposals related to public welfare and administrative matters.
Lado Laxmi Yojana: Proposed Changes to the Income Limit
When the scheme was launched, the annual family income limit for eligibility was set at ₹1 lakh, based on details recorded in the Family Identity Card. In September 2026, the government increased the limit to ₹1.80 lakh, reportedly enabling around 17 lakh additional women to enrol.
The government is now considering revising the income limit for a second time. Under the proposal, the annual family income ceiling could be raised to ₹3 lakh, with the aim of extending financial support to a larger number of women.
The proposed change is yet to receive Cabinet approval. Until an official decision is announced, applicants should continue to follow the existing eligibility conditions.
Haryana Cabinet Meeting: Other Key Proposals
Apart from the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, the Haryana Cabinet is expected to discuss several other matters concerning government administration and public welfare.
One proposal relates to waiving penal rent charged for government accommodation. The amounts under consideration are ₹27.17 lakh for Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Leader of the Opposition in the Haryana Assembly, and ₹38.47 lakh for former chairman Rajdeep Phogat.
The meeting may also consider administrative amendments to the Haryana Media Personnel Welfare Fund Distribution Scheme. Another proposal concerns the transfer of financial resources to relevant bodies in accordance with the recommendations of the Sixth State Finance Commission.
Additionally, the Cabinet may grant post-facto approval to the notification for the Haryana Vikasit Bharat Guaranteed Employment and Livelihood Mission Scheme.
What Women Should Know About the Scheme
The proposed increase in the income ceiling could expand the reach of the Lado Lakshmi Yojana if approved. However, the revised limit and any related changes will become applicable only after the government formally approves and notifies them.
Women interested in receiving assistance should follow official Haryana government announcements for updates on eligibility, application procedures and other requirements.
