It also stops at Tikiri, Lakshmipur Road, Kakiriguma and Damanjodi before reaching Koraput. These connections are expected to improve rail access for passengers travelling across different parts of Odisha.
A Convenient Option for Pilgrims and Tourists
Puri is one of India’s important pilgrimage destinations and is also known for its coastline and historic attractions. Koraput, meanwhile, offers a different experience with its natural landscapes, hills and local cultural heritage.
The direct train connection is expected to benefit pilgrims, tourists, students, traders and local residents. It also makes it easier to plan journeys between Odisha’s coastal, western and southern regions.
Strengthening Regional Tourism
Improved railway access can encourage visitors to explore destinations beyond the state’s most familiar tourist centres. By connecting Puri with Koraput and several towns along the route, the service adds another travel option for people interested in discovering Odisha’s diverse landscapes and heritage.
