The upcoming MARRIAGETOXIN Season 2 has unveiled a brand-new key visual along with a special promotional video looking back at the events of the first season. The new material was released by the anime’s production team in early September, giving fans their first major glimpse at what lies ahead for Gero and Kinosaki.
MARRIAGETOXIN Season 2 Key Visual Highlights Gero and Kinosaki
The newly released artwork puts the anime’s unusual central pair front and center.
Hikaru Gero, the successor to a legendary family of assassins and an expert in poisons, is shown holding a syringe that represents his deadly profession. Standing beside him is Mei Kinosaki, a talented marriage scammer, who carries a bouquet of flowers.
The large bridge from the opening episode of Season 1 can be seen behind them. It holds special significance for the duo, as Gero once rescued Kinosaki there after initially being assigned to eliminate her.
Several smaller visual details also appear to tease characters and events that could become important during the second season.
New PV Revisits the Events of Season 1
Alongside the key visual, the production team released a new promotional video titled the “Main Visual Reveal PV.” The video not only showcases the latest artwork but also provides a quick recap of Gero’s journey throughout the first season.
The retrospective highlights his unusual search for a suitable bride, while also revisiting his battles against the powerful Masters he encountered along the way.
Season 1 featured major story arcs involving the Water Master, Sound Master, and Beast Master, putting Gero through a series of dangerous confrontations while he attempted to accomplish his personal mission.
What Will Happen in MARRIAGETOXIN Season 2?
The story of MARRIAGETOXIN follows Gero, a socially awkward professional assassin who makes an unexpected decision when his sister is pressured to produce an heir for their clan.
Rather than allowing her to face that fate, Gero decides that he must get married himself. However, finding a partner is far outside his area of expertise, so he turns to Mei Kinosaki for assistance.
There is one major complication: Kinosaki was originally the person Gero had been ordered to assassinate.
The second season will continue this unusual partnership while exploring how their relationship develops. Director Motonobu Hori has teased that viewers can expect a “charming new marriage candidate” to enter Gero’s life. The bond between Gero and Kinosaki is also expected to become significantly deeper.
