The comedy manga Null Meta is officially getting a television anime adaptation, with its broadcast planned for 2027. The announcement also revealed the main production team and a teaser visual, introducing a new project that combines school-life comedy with an unusual science-fiction premise.
The series will be directed by Kai Ikarashi, known for his work on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. The project will mark his television anime directorial debut.
Studio Soigne Takes Charge of Animation
Animation production will be handled by Studio Soigne, while Tatsuya Takahashi is responsible for series composition and scripts. Shin Ogasawara will design the characters.
The announcement was accompanied by a teaser visual, but the production team has not yet revealed the voice cast or a full-length trailer.
An Android’s Unpredictable High School Life
Created by Kokamumo, Null Meta follows Kurumi, an android who attends high school alongside Chiaki, the daughter of the scientist who created her. Their circle also includes Sakina, a relaxed friend, and Shiyuki, who often appears to be the most sensible member of the group.
Kurumi’s unusual abilities and the group’s eccentric personalities turn ordinary school days into chaotic situations. The story blends everyday comedy with android-related surprises and meta humour.
The manga began as a web comic before entering serialization in Manga Time Kirara Max in 2020. Six collected volumes have been released in Japan.
When Will Null Meta Premiere?
The anime is scheduled for 2027, but no exact date or broadcast season has been announced. The voice cast and streaming arrangements also remain unconfirmed.
With its director and animation studio now revealed, Null Meta is moving toward its television debut. More details are expected as the production releases further updates.
