The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY), implemented through the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), has reported another round of incentive payments aimed at encouraging formal employment across India.
During EPFO’s 74th Foundation Day programme, officials announced the disbursement of the fourth tranche of incentives under the employment-linked scheme. The latest figures highlight financial support reaching both newly employed workers and businesses creating additional jobs.
₹702.39 Crore Transferred to Employers
According to the latest figures announced at the programme, ₹702.39 crore has been disbursed to 83,242 employers under the scheme.
The employer incentive is designed to encourage businesses to recruit additional employees and maintain formal employment. Eligible employers can receive monthly financial support for qualifying new workers, subject to the scheme’s conditions.
Employees Also Receive Employment Incentives
The latest update also includes payments to individual employees:
- 2,86,290 employees received their first instalment worth ₹163.39 crore.
- 1,44,831 employees received their second instalment worth ₹96.01 crore.
The scheme provides eligible first-time employees with an incentive of up to ₹15,000, distributed in two instalments after meeting the prescribed service conditions.
What Is the PMVBRY Scheme?
Launched in August 2025, PMVBRY has a total financial outlay of ₹99,446 crore and aims to support the creation of 3.5 crore jobs over two years.
The programme focuses on bringing first-time employees into the formal workforce through EPFO registration while encouraging companies to expand their workforce.
Eligible employees earning up to ₹1 lakh per month can qualify for the employee incentive. Employers can receive up to ₹3,000 per month for each eligible additional employee, subject to applicable conditions.
What This Means for Job Seekers and Businesses
The latest disbursement highlights the government’s continued use of employment-linked financial incentives to encourage formal hiring.
For first-time employees, the scheme offers additional financial support when entering organised employment. For businesses, it provides an incentive to expand recruitment and strengthen their workforce.
The programme will continue through July 2027, with further implementation and benefit payments subject to eligibility requirements.
