Bangladesh has launched an international tourism campaign to attract global travel partners ahead of the 100th anniversary of its historic paddle steamer, PS Mahsud, in 2028. The initiative aims to bring international attention to the country’s river journeys, cultural heritage and traditional travel experiences.
Campaign Targets 100 Global Partners
Named “100 Years, 100 Global Partners”, the campaign was unveiled during World Travel Market London 2026. Bangladesh is inviting 100 tour operators and tourism organisations to join a global promotional network before the centenary celebrations.
Historic Paddle Steamer at the Centre
Built in 1928, PS Mahsud is one of Bangladesh’s historic paddle steamers and represents the country’s long connection with river transport. The vessel is operated by River and Green Tours.
The anniversary campaign will highlight river cruises and heritage-based travel experiences, giving international visitors another way to explore Bangladesh beyond its popular city destinations.
Year-Long Promotion Planned
The initiative will include promotional activities, tourism-industry networking and destination marketing in the run-up to 2028. Bangladesh hopes the campaign will strengthen its position as a destination for cultural and river-based tourism.
