Air India is expanding its domestic network from October 25, 2026, with a new daily nonstop seasonal service between Mumbai and Jaisalmer and daily flights connecting Delhi, Khajuraho and Varanasi. The changes coincide with the start of the winter airline schedule and aim to make some of India’s heritage destinations easier to reach.
The new services may benefit travellers planning winter holidays, heritage tours and religious visits, particularly those who want to combine multiple destinations in one trip.
Direct Mumbai–Jaisalmer Flights
The new seasonal Mumbai–Jaisalmer service will give passengers from western India a direct air connection to Rajasthan’s desert destination. Visitors can explore Jaisalmer Fort, historic havelis and the surrounding desert landscape without needing to connect through Delhi.
The service complements Air India’s existing daily Delhi–Jaisalmer flights. Travellers should check the operating dates, departure times and fares before booking, as the Mumbai route is seasonal.
Daily Flights Connecting Delhi, Khajuraho and Varanasi
Air India will also introduce daily flights on a triangular route linking Delhi, Khajuraho and Varanasi. The order of the stops will alternate according to the day of the week.
Khajuraho is known for its historic temple complex, while Varanasi attracts visitors interested in its spiritual traditions, riverfront and cultural heritage. The new routing could make it easier for travellers to include both destinations in a single itinerary.
Additional Delhi–Gaya Flight
The winter schedule will also bring a second daily flight between Delhi and Gaya. More departure options can provide additional flexibility for passengers travelling to Bihar, including visitors heading towards the wider Buddhist pilgrimage circuit.
Travellers should compare the available timings to find a connection that fits their plans.
What Passengers Should Know
The revised services are scheduled to begin on October 25, 2026. Fares and seat availability may vary by date, so passengers should confirm details through official booking channels.
With a direct seasonal link to Jaisalmer and new connections serving Khajuraho, Varanasi and Gaya, the winter schedule offers additional ways to plan domestic heritage and cultural trips.
