Actor Anupam Kher has mourned the death of veteran actor Mushtaq Khan, remembering him as a humble and cheerful person with a wonderful sense of humour. Kher shared an emotional video on Instagram in which he looked back on the memories they created while working together in several films.
Along with the video, the ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ actor offered his condolences to Mushtaq Khan’s son Mohsin and the entire family. Kher wrote that he had “very beautiful memories” of working with the late actor and said the news of his passing brought those memories back throughout the day.
Anupam Kher Recalls Working With Mushtaq Khan
In the video, Kher said he was deeply saddened after learning about Mushtaq Khan’s death in Atlanta. He recalled working with him on several projects, including films associated with directors Mahesh Bhatt and Satish Kaushik.
“There was a time when we worked together on a lot of films. Mahesh Bhatt’s films, Satish Kaushik’s films, and many other films. Then we walked on our own paths. But I will always remember the days I spent with him,” Kher said.
Remembering Khan’s nature, Kher described him as a “very simple man” who always had a great sense of humour. He also said that he had never seen the actor lose his temper.
Kher Remembers Khan’s Son Mohsin
Kher also spoke about his connection with Mushtaq Khan’s son Mohsin, saying that they had remained in touch for the past five to six years. He recalled regularly asking Mohsin about his father whenever they spoke.
“Mohsin never used to do anything new or share any film. I used to ask him every time, How is your father? How is Mr. Mushtaq?” Kher said.
He added that he had spoken to Mohsin some time ago and described him as a “very good son”. Kher said he was certain that Mohsin had taken good care of his father during his illness.
Anupam Kher Recalls Mushtaq Khan’s Laughter
Kher also remembered speaking with Mushtaq Khan a few months earlier. Reflecting on the loss, he said that the memories of a person often return vividly after their death.
“When someone passes away, the days spent with him pass in your mind like a reel of a film,” Kher said, adding that Mushtaq Khan’s laughter while working with him would remain in his memories.
Concluding his tribute, Kher expressed his condolences to Mohsin and the entire Khan family. He said Mushtaq Khan’s absence would be felt both in the film industry and in the personal lives of those who knew him.
