Chhattisgarh is preparing to introduce a dedicated heritage gallery called Riyasat Veethika, aimed at showcasing the history and royal traditions of the state’s 14 former princely states.
The project is expected to strengthen cultural tourism and give visitors an opportunity to explore the region’s royal history, traditional art and historical collections.
Gallery to Preserve Royal History
The proposed gallery will display a range of historical objects collected in consultation with former royal families. These include royal insignias, traditional clothing, antique weapons, historical coins, seals and archival materials.
The initiative aims to preserve important cultural records and make them accessible to visitors, researchers and history enthusiasts.
Historic Palaces May Become Tourism Attractions
Alongside the gallery, the state is planning to develop historic palaces into heritage tourism circuits and homestays.
This approach could give travellers more opportunities to experience traditional architecture, local culture and the historical character of Chhattisgarh.
Boost for Local Tourism
The project is expected to create fresh interest in lesser-known destinations and encourage visitors to explore beyond the state’s established tourist attractions.
It also offers opportunities to connect heritage conservation with local hospitality and community-based tourism.
