The anime is based on the light novel series written by Rifujin na Magonote and illustrated by Shirotaka. Seven Seas publishes the light novels in English.
Story Continues After Volume 14
Season 3 began by adapting material from Volume 14 of the light novel. The story follows Rudeus, Nanahoshi and their companions as they travel to Perugius’s mysterious floating fortress, hoping to explore its secrets and learn new magic.
Their journey takes an unexpected turn when one of the group members falls seriously ill, leaving Rudeus facing a difficult challenge as he tries to save someone close to him.
The upcoming cour will continue the anime’s adaptation of the original fantasy series. Alongside the television project, the franchise is also set to expand with the free-to-play game Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation – Chronicle of Echoes, developed by ASOBIMO and featuring in-app purchases.
