A New Attraction at Ekta Nagar
A new nature and heritage attraction called the Trail of United India is scheduled to open at Ekta Nagar, near Gujarat’s Statue of Unity, on October 31. The 2.62-kilometre trail has been developed in Limdi village to combine outdoor exploration with displays celebrating India’s cultural diversity and natural heritage.
The project is designed to give visitors another reason to extend their stay in the Statue of Unity region, which already attracts tourists for its landmark statue and surrounding attractions.
Five Themed Zones for Visitors
The trail features five themed sections focusing on wildlife and nature, youth, women’s empowerment, heritage, and spirituality. Displays and sculptures along the route are intended to highlight different aspects of India’s culture, society and biodiversity.
Visitors will be able to explore the forest setting on foot, making the attraction suitable for walking tours, nature observation and educational outings.
Facilities Designed for Visitors
The site includes visitor amenities such as parking, an information centre, drinking-water points, bio-toilets, seating areas, a bamboo watchtower and directional signboards. These facilities are intended to make the walking experience more convenient.
The trail is also expected to create opportunities for local tourism businesses and employment. By combining nature-based recreation with cultural storytelling, the project aims to broaden the range of experiences available around Ekta Nagar and the Statue of Unity.
