The popular Precure franchise is expanding with a new television spinoff titled Dual Shadow ~Precure Villain Heroines~. The upcoming anime is scheduled to air in 2027, and a short teaser has been released to introduce the project.
The announcement has drawn attention because the new title puts the spotlight on villain-themed heroines, offering a different direction from the franchise’s familiar magical-heroine stories.
Teaser Hints at a Darker Story
The teaser begins with a bright field of flowers before shifting to a more mysterious atmosphere. A message translated as “After all, we’re not Precure” appears, followed by an eerie flower and a pair of suspicious-looking eyes in the background.
Although the preview is brief, its change from cheerful imagery to unsettling visuals suggests a distinct tone for the new series.
Original Characters Expected
The title’s reference to “Villain Heroines” has sparked interest in how the spinoff will approach its central characters. Early coverage indicates that the project may tell a new story featuring original characters, rather than simply revisiting familiar leads.
Further details about the plot, cast and production team have not yet been fully announced.
Release Planned for 2027
Dual Shadow is listed for a 2027 television broadcast. A precise premiere date and additional information about its distribution are still awaited.
The spinoff could offer Precure viewers a fresh perspective on the franchise’s magical world by exploring characters and themes associated with its darker side.
