The Central Government has released the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, providing financial assistance to more than 9.34 crore farmer beneficiaries across India. Under this instalment, eligible farmers received ₹2,000 directly into their bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
The payment was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 30, 2026, from Banaskantha in Gujarat, ahead of the Diwali festival.
₹2,000 Transferred to Eligible Farmers
The PM-KISAN scheme provides annual financial assistance of ₹6,000 to eligible landholding farmer families. The amount is distributed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each.
The latest transfer is intended to help farmers manage agricultural expenses, including seeds, fertilisers and other farming requirements.
Farmers Advised to Check Payment Status
Beneficiaries can check their payment information through the official PM-KISAN portal. Farmers should verify their beneficiary status and ensure that their bank and Aadhaar details are correctly updated.
The government has also advised farmers to complete mandatory e-KYC to avoid interruptions in future payments.
Verification Remains Important for Beneficiaries
Certain accounts involving land ownership acquired after February 1, 2019, or multiple family members receiving benefits may require additional verification under the scheme’s eligibility rules.
Such cases may have payments temporarily withheld until the required physical verification is completed.
PM-KISAN Scheme to Continue Until 2030-31
The Union Cabinet has also approved the continuation of the PM-KISAN scheme from 2026-27 to 2030-31, with a total financial allocation of ₹3.15 lakh crore.
The decision provides continued support for eligible farming families and reinforces the government’s commitment to strengthening agricultural households through direct financial assistance.
