Focus on Heritage, Culture and Emerging Destinations
India is presenting its diverse tourism experiences to international visitors at World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026 . The Ministry of Tourism is leading a delegation of nearly 50 stakeholders, including state governments, tour operators and hospitality businesses.
The India Pavilion highlights the country’s cultural diversity, traditional crafts, art, heritage and immersive travel experiences.
50 Globally Benchmarkable Tourist Destinations
India’s tourism strategy includes developing 50 globally benchmarked tourist destinations, with improvements in infrastructure, accommodation and visitor facilities.
The government has also sanctioned 40 tourism projects worth approximately ₹3,296 crore across 23 states to develop lesser-known destinations and create more opportunities for local communities.
Cultural Events to Attract International Visitors
The pavilion is also promoting India’s growing cultural and events tourism sector. One major upcoming attraction is the India Art, Architecture and Design Biennale, scheduled in New Delhi from December 4, 2026, to March 21, 2027.
Through these initiatives, India aims to encourage international visitors to explore destinations beyond the country’s most familiar tourist locations.
