New Archaeological Exhibit to Highlight Ancient Maya History
Belize is preparing to expand its tourism attractions with a new exhibition at the Caracol Archaeological Reserve, scheduled to open in 2027. The Te K’ab Chaak Tomb Exhibit will showcase artefacts discovered during archaeological work in 2025, offering visitors a closer look at the history of the ancient Maya civilisation.
The tomb is associated with Te K’ab Chaak, identified as Caracol’s first recorded ruler. The exhibition is expected to add a new cultural attraction to one of Belize’s important archaeological sites.
New Resorts to Broaden Accommodation Choices
Belize is also preparing to welcome new hospitality developments. Duna Beach Resort in Hopkins Village and Four Seasons Resort and Residences, Caye Chapel are both scheduled to open in 2027.
The Four Seasons development is planned to include 104 oceanfront rooms and overwater bungalows. Looking further ahead, Six Senses Belize on Emerald Caye is expected to open in mid-2028.
Greater Focus on Heritage and Authentic Experiences
The developments form part of Belize’s effort to promote its Maya heritage, local communities and natural surroundings alongside new accommodation options. The country hopes these additions will give international visitors more reasons to explore its archaeological sites and Caribbean coastline.
