IndiGo is preparing to move selected international flights from Mumbai’s existing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport to Navi Mumbai International Airport between February and July 2027. The planned shift is part of a wider redistribution of airline operations as infrastructure work is expected at Mumbai’s existing Terminal 1.
The change could affect passengers travelling from Mumbai to destinations across the Middle East and Asia.
Which International Routes Could Be Affected?
IndiGo plans to progressively transfer 12 daily international departures to Navi Mumbai. The announced network includes destinations such as Bahrain, Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Madinah, Kuwait, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Muscat, Dhaka and Jakarta.
The airline also plans to introduce a daily service to Kathmandu from Navi Mumbai. The precise implementation dates for individual routes have not all been finalised.
Air India Express Also Plans Operations at Navi Mumbai
Air India Express expects to begin selected domestic flights from Navi Mumbai in December 2026. Some international services are planned from January 2027, subject to the required approvals and operational arrangements.
These changes are expected to spread selected services across Mumbai’s two airports rather than move every flight to the new facility.

Navi Mumbai International Airport is being developed to provide additional aviation capacity for the Mumbai region. The planned redistribution of flights is linked to infrastructure development and the need to manage operations across both airports.
