The Rajasthan government has announced a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners, bringing the rate from 60% to 63% of basic pay and pension. The decision is expected to provide financial relief to thousands of government employees and retired personnel.
More Than 12 Lakh Beneficiaries to Benefit
The revised DA and DR rates will benefit more than 7 lakh government employees and over 5 lakh pensioners across Rajasthan. The increase will be effective retrospectively from 1 July 2026, allowing eligible beneficiaries to receive arrears for the previous months.
When Will Employees Receive the Increased DA?
The revised allowance will be reflected in November salaries, while pensioners will receive the increased relief through their pension payments. The arrears for July to October will be deposited into employees’ General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts.
The decision is expected to increase the state’s financial expenditure by approximately ₹820 crore.
Additional Bonus for Government Employees
Along with the DA revision, the Rajasthan government has also approved an ad hoc bonus for nearly 6 lakh eligible employees. This decision will involve an additional expenditure of approximately ₹406 crore.
What Does the Decision Mean?
The increase in DA and the additional bonus are expected to offer financial support to eligible employees and their families. The revised allowance will help government staff manage household expenses amid changing living costs.
The announcement is particularly significant for employees who were waiting for the latest DA revision and payment of pending arrears.
