Punjabi music star Diljit Dosanjh is joining forces with international music sensation Daddy Yankee for a new track titled Pokito. The collaboration brings Punjabi music and Latin sounds together, creating an international musical crossover.
The project marks an exciting collaboration between two artists known for connecting with audiences across different languages and music markets.
Punjabi and Spanish Sounds Come Together
Pokito moves between Punjabi verses and Spanish reggaeton, allowing both singers to bring their individual musical styles to the collaboration. Diljit opens the track with Punjabi vocals before Daddy Yankee adds his Spanish-language performance.
The song uses the phrase “Poquito a poquito”, which means “little by little”, as a recurring musical hook. Its theme reflects determination, hard work and the journey towards success.
Music Video Directed by Stillz
The music video has been directed by Stillz and combines visual elements associated with Punjabi culture and Latin urban music. It features colourful settings, including a baseball stadium and a convenience store.
The visuals bring together the artists’ different cultural identities rather than presenting them separately, giving the collaboration a distinct international feel.
