The Indian stock market continued its upward movement on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, as buying interest remained strong across several major sectors. The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 traded higher, supported by easing crude oil prices, improving investor sentiment and encouraging quarterly corporate earnings.
The positive movement followed a strong rally in the previous session, when both benchmark indices recorded gains of more than 1.6%.
Sensex and Nifty Extend Their Gains
During Tuesday’s trading session, the Sensex moved above 76,500, while the Nifty 50 crossed the 23,600 level.
At around midday, the Nifty was trading near 23,676, gaining approximately 1%, while the Sensex stood near 76,504, up around 1.07%.
The broader market also remained positive, with mid-cap and small-cap indices recording gains during the session.
Marico and Trident Shares Gain Attention
Several companies attracted investor attention following their September-quarter earnings announcements.
Marico shares gained after the company reported a 31% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹550 crore. Its quarterly revenue also increased by 13% to ₹3,897 crore.
Trident shares advanced after reporting a 93% rise in quarterly profit to ₹175.5 crore. The company also announced a proposed investment of ₹4,650 crore for capacity expansion and modernisation.
Lower Crude Oil Prices Support Market Sentiment
A significant factor behind the positive market movement has been the decline in international crude oil prices.
Brent crude prices moved towards the $104-per-barrel level after falling sharply in the previous session. Hopes of progress in diplomatic discussions involving the United States and Iran also contributed to improved investor sentiment.
Lower oil prices can help reduce import-related costs for India and provide relief to businesses that depend heavily on energy.
Foreign Investor Buying Returns
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) recorded net purchases of approximately ₹3,117.99 crore in Indian equities on November 1, according to provisional figures.
However, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were net sellers during the same session.
The return of foreign buying has become another important factor influencing market sentiment.
What Investors Are Watching Next
Market participants are closely monitoring September-quarter earnings, global economic developments, crude oil movements and upcoming international political events.
The latest gains indicate an improvement in market sentiment, although volatility remains a factor that investors continue to monitor.
