The upcoming slice-of-life anime Hirayasumi has revealed an important addition to its music lineup. Japanese singer-songwriter TOMOO will perform the series’ ending theme, bringing her distinctive vocals to the highly anticipated adaptation scheduled to premiere in January 2027.
The announcement has generated interest among fans of the original manga, who are looking forward to seeing its gentle storytelling brought to television.
New Song Created Especially for the Anime
TOMOO’s original song, titled “Fumi Zekka”, has been selected as the ending theme. The singer shared that she was inspired by the manga’s atmosphere, particularly its descriptions of peaceful night streets and refreshing breezes.
She explained that she wanted the song to complement the emotions and warmth that remain with readers after experiencing the story.
What Is Hirayasumi About?
Based on the manga by Keigo Shinzo, Hirayasumi follows 29-year-old Hiroto Ikuta, a carefree man who unexpectedly receives a single-storey house from an elderly neighbour.
His life takes a new turn when his 18-year-old cousin, Natsumi Kobayashi, moves from Yamagata to Tokyo to attend art school. The two begin living together, while people around them bring their own personal struggles, relationships and everyday experiences into the story.
Anime Scheduled for January 2027
The series is scheduled to begin broadcasting on NHK General TV in Japan in January 2027. Production +h. is handling the animation, with Kei Suezawa serving as director and series composer.
The main voice cast includes Yuma Uchida as Hiroto, Mayu Takahashi as Natsumi and Rikako Aikawa as Hanae Wada.
Song Release Details Awaited
Although the ending theme and its singer have now been confirmed, the release date and cover artwork for TOMOO’s song have not yet been announced. More information is expected in a future update.
With its focus on everyday relationships and comforting moments, Hirayasumi is shaping up to be a notable January 2027 anime release.
