Government Releases ₹18,690 Crore to Farmers
Farmers across India have received an important update under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 24th installment on October 30, 2026, transferring more than ₹18,690 crore to over 9.34 crore eligible farmer families through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
The amount was transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts to provide financial support for agricultural and household expenses.
e-KYC Remains Mandatory for Beneficiaries
The government has reiterated that e-KYC is compulsory for registered PM-KISAN beneficiaries. Farmers who have not completed this process should ensure that their details are updated to avoid payment-related problems.
Biometric-based e-KYC is also available through authorised Common Service Centres and supported government facilities.
Some Farmers’ Payments Temporarily Withheld
The department has identified certain cases requiring additional eligibility verification. These include cases involving land ownership acquired after February 1, 2019, and situations where multiple family members are receiving scheme benefits.
Payments in such cases may remain temporarily withheld until physical verification is completed.
How Farmers Can Check Their Payment Status
Beneficiaries can visit the official PM-KISAN portal and use the Know Your Status facility to check installment and eligibility details.
Farmers should also verify their Aadhaar, bank account and land records to ensure that their information is accurate. No official date for the 25th installment has been announced yet.
