Planning a relaxing holiday surrounded by Kerala’s hills, beaches and backwaters? IRCTC Tourism has introduced its Mesmerising Kerala With Houseboat Stay package, offering travellers an eight-day trip covering some of the state’s well-known destinations.
The seven-night, eight-day tour begins from Indore on November 25, 2026. The itinerary includes Kochi, Munnar, Thekkady, Kumarakom and Thiruvananthapuram. The package starts at Rs 61,000 per person and covers return flights, hotel stays, selected meals, sightseeing and an overnight houseboat experience.
IRCTC Kerala tour: Price, duration and travel details
The package is scheduled to depart from Indore on November 25, 2026. Travellers will travel by flight and road, with road transfers arranged on a seat-in-coach basis.
The tour includes seven nights of accommodation and a houseboat stay in either Alleppey or Kumarakom. The starting package price is Rs 61,000 per person.
Day 1: Indore to Kochi
The trip starts with a morning IndiGo flight from Indore to Kochi. After arriving at approximately 2:35 pm, travellers will be transferred to their hotel in Ernakulam.
The evening is planned around Marine Drive, followed by dinner and an overnight stay in Kochi.
Day 2: Kochi to Munnar
After breakfast, the group will travel to Munnar by road. A stop at Cheeyapara Waterfalls is included along the route.
After checking into the hotel, travellers can choose to visit the Tea Museum and attend a cultural programme at Punarjani. These are optional activities and their entry fees are not included in the package.
The Tea Museum operates from 10 am to 4 pm and remains closed on Mondays.
Day 3: Munnar sightseeing
The third day is dedicated to exploring Munnar. The itinerary includes visits to Eravikulam National Park, Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point and Kundala Lake.
Travellers will have some free time for leisure before dinner and an overnight stay in Munnar.
Day 4: Munnar to Thekkady
After breakfast, the group will leave Munnar for Thekkady. Travellers can opt for a boat ride at Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary in the afternoon, but the activity will be at their own expense.
Those planning to take the boat ride are advised to confirm it beforehand, as tickets are subject to availability and need to be purchased separately.
Houseboat experience and Thiruvananthapuram itinerary
Day 5: Kumarakom houseboat stay
The houseboat experience is scheduled for the fifth day of the tour. After reaching Kumarakom, travellers will board the houseboat and have lunch while cruising through Kerala’s backwaters.
The houseboat will cruise from noon to 1:30 pm and again from 3 pm to 5:30 pm. It will then remain anchored overnight at a designated location, as cruising is not permitted after 5:30 pm.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included during the houseboat stay.
Day 6: Kumarakom to Thiruvananthapuram
After breakfast, travellers will leave the houseboat and continue their journey towards Thiruvananthapuram.
The day’s sightseeing includes Jatayu Earth’s Center, Kovalam Beach and the Azimala Shiva Temple. Dinner and an overnight hotel stay in Thiruvananthapuram will follow.
Day 7: Thiruvananthapuram sightseeing
The seventh day begins early with a visit to Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple at around 5 am. Visitors will be required to follow the temple’s traditional dress code.
After returning to the hotel for breakfast, the group will visit Thiruvananthapuram Zoo. The day will conclude with dinner and the final overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 8: Return to Indore
After breakfast, travellers will check out and proceed to the airport for their return flight to Indore, marking the end of the eight-day Kerala holiday.
What is included in the IRCTC Kerala package?
The package includes return economy-class airfare from Indore, seven nights in deluxe-category air-conditioned hotels and one night on a houseboat at Alleppey or Kumarakom.
Hotel stays include breakfast and dinner, while the houseboat package includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Airport transfers and sightseeing will be provided in an air-conditioned vehicle on a seat-in-coach basis.
Travel insurance, parking charges, toll tax, driver allowance and GST are also included.
Optional activities, entry fees and any expenses not specifically mentioned under the inclusions will have to be paid separately.
