The upcoming romantic comedy anime Now That We Draw has revealed its opening theme song. The production committee confirmed that Shallm will perform the track titled “Kimiiro Hirari” for the series. The band debuted the song during its ANTI AFTER SCHOOL EP tour.
Lia, the vocalist of Shallm, expressed her excitement about contributing to the anime. She said that reading the original manga helped her connect with its romantic comedy elements and its message about pursuing dreams alongside someone special.
As an artist working towards her own ambitions, Lia said she could relate to the two main characters. She created the song while keeping the emotions inspired by the manga in mind and hopes viewers will enjoy it alongside the series.

What Is the Story of Now That We Draw?
The anime follows Yuuki Uehara and Nina Miyamoto, two aspiring manga artists who struggle to make the romance in their stories feel convincing. Their editors repeatedly point out that their romantic scenes lack authenticity.
The problem is that neither artist has experienced being in love. To understand romance better and improve their manga, the pair decide to pretend to be a couple.
Their unusual arrangement becomes the starting point for a romantic comedy centred on their creative ambitions and developing relationship.
Manga Background and English Release
Kakunaru Ue wa is based on the manga written by Kyu Takahata and illustrated by Yuwji Kaba. The series began publication in Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine in February 2023 and remains ongoing.
